FAA Approves Nationwide Drone Delivery Expansion for Amazon and Wing
New regulations allow beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations in urban areas.

The Federal Aviation Administration has approved expanded drone delivery operations for Amazon Prime Air and Alphabet's Wing, allowing flights in urban areas across 25 major U.S. cities.
The new rules permit beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations, a critical capability that allows drones to operate over longer distances without a human pilot maintaining direct visual contact.
Both companies plan to begin expanded operations within 60 days.
